RE: 21 EXOTIC AUTOMOBILES UNCOVERED IN FORMER GOV YAR’S HOME

PUBLISHED: STVN 6 AUGUST, 2019

Reference to my Monday August 5th, 2019 press statement on the raid on former Gov of Zamfara, Abdulaziz Yari’s residence in Talata Mafara by the operatives of the EFCC on Sunday, August 4th, 2019, in which we vowed to allow the EFCC to  carry out its constitutional responsibility of investigating allegation leveled against the former governor that the former governor’s residence in Talata Mafara was full of Dollar and other multi-national currencies, leading to the decision by the EFCC to stage a surprise raid on the premises.
I wish to notify the general public that no amount of pressure or intimidation by those media organizations conniving with those wishing to see the former Gov humiliated, would force the former governor to retract his position or stand on not – to – comment on the ongoing investigation against him by the EFCC, until after it concluded.
However, this morning, we noticed that certain online newspapers who are contracted by anti Abdullaziz  Yari fanatics, to tarnish his hard earned reputation, a washed the social media platforms with all sorts of fake news against the former governor in order to mislead the general public with a view to causing mischief within the general public.
We also noticed that these online media went a step further to accredit such fake news to the EFCC.
I therefore find it expedient to respond to such fake newspapers’ insinuations, especially those mischief makers and rumor mongers who engage in antics of violence and misleading the general public with a view to causing chaos, just as they tried and failed in their planned revolution of disrupting the nation’s democracy.
Let me state categorically here that EFCC is a highly responsible organization set up by the constitution of the Federal Republic and is working within the ambit of the Nigerian law, as such it couldn’t have brought itself so low, so cheap to issue such irresponsible statement you authored and accredited to it to satisfy your sponsors.
However, I wish to answer your assumptions and allegations against former governor Yari appropriately as follows and advise you to tell your masters/sponsors to come out and identify themselves as whistle blowers to take the risk of going to jail, rather than the hide and sick game they engaged into, using the EFCC and such fake news media platforms like yours to achieve their political desires.
Specifically, I am responding to the issues raised by the Saharareporters, the Cable news, the Punch newspaper etc.
In your respective reports, you alleged as follows:
1. 21  Exotic Automobiles were uncovered at the Talata Mafara residence of the former Gov.
2. 35 Billion Naira IDPs fund was misappropriated by the former Gov.
3. 51 Billion Naira ecological fund was misappropriated by the former Gov.
These are the allegations your respective medium made against the former Gov and accredited same allegations to the EFCC.
First of all, let me inform you that a whistle blower drew the attention of the EFCC that there was huge sum of money at the former Gov’s residence in Talata Mafara. The whistle blower further alleged that all rooms in the house were full of multi-national currencies, and demanded the EFCC to investigate.
However, the EFCC was at the residence of the former Gov and he directed that all rooms be opened for the operatives to carry out their assignment, an order which was compiled with. Unfortunately, the operatives could not find a dime in the house after checking all the rooms and offices in the house.
For this reason, the former Gov, who was not even informed of the EFCC’s investigative visit to the House, is now waiting to see the action to be taken by the EFCC against the whistle blower who made the misleading allegation against the former Gov.
It may be recalled that similar incident happened to the former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Alh Namadi Sambo, where a whistle blower was proved wrong and is now serving his jail term.
The allegations of 21 Exotic automobiles found at the former Gov’s residence, let me ask if you were at the Gov’s residence to see the size of the house to have fabricated such lies that such a number of Exotic automobiles have been found in the house? More so, was EFCC at the house to uncover cars or cash?
On the issue of the alleged IDPs 35 Billion Naira the newspapers accused the former Gov of, I challenge these fake newspapers to publish to the public, the name of persons or institutions that gave the former Gov such amount of money or indeed any penny for the IDPs. Otherwise, the former Gov will take legal action against these Armchair media organizations whose interest is disrupting the peace and stability in Nigeria.
On the allegation leveled against the former Gov that he misappropriated the 51 Billion Naira given to him for ecological disasters/ problems, let these newspapers go and verify their facts, as the ecological funds were distributed during the PDP administration of Goodluck Jonathan and no APC Gov was given a dime for the purpose.
On the debt profile the newspapers alleged that the former Gov left behind for the present PDP administration in the state, the former Gov maintained his position that he hasn’t left behind such debt profile. The former governor therefore challenged anybody with the knowledge of where such debts are to publish on newspapers for the general public to see how and where such debts were left.
Finally, the former governor gives these newspapers 24 hours to retract their allegations against him or face legal action.
